“Setsuna” means the precise moment in one’s life.
Enjoy every moment with our new standard Japanese cuisine!
Some highlights from Yelp.com comments on Setsuna Restaurant:
They have opted for more of a “izakaya” form of menu, this is a type of Japanese drinking establishment, in Japan, which also serves food to accompany drinks, so in theory no sushi! Okay, sushi in moderation, they do offer several, “rolls”. Think of a Super-sized bar menu with benefits….
While the bar is a decent size 2 tvs, dart board, and karaoke, the main dining area has ample room to seat parties of 1, 2, 4, 6, and maybe as large as 10 people. The service is solid, there is just the 1 waitress, so don’t go crazy thinking you’ll get served on hand and foot, she does a very good job and her English as well as her Japanese is spot on!
Menu is a wonderful example of all things great and small. Check out their website for details, pricing is what I would consider pretty cheap based on what they serve. The high quality product, authentic tastes and portions set them apart from others.
The Tan Tan Udon and tempura are nicely done, we’ve all enjoyed the combo dinners, the portions aren’t for the beastly, but suffice. A must try is the Nasu Nibitashi, Japanese eggplant and of all things, okra, in a light dashi sauce, perfect! Some of the BEST miso soup I’ve had in a long time. Croquettes are mighty fine, and the Yaki gyoza are crispy blessings from Budda.
Real Japanese chef, real Japanese waitress, real Japanese bartender, REAL JAPANESE FLAVOR!! WAY TO GO CHEF YOSHI!!! Sit back, slow your pace a bit and enjoy.
